History
This rare 1986 TVR Tasmin 280I is one of approximately 500 examples exported to North America. This model features Ford drive train components, in particular the Cologne built 2.8 liter, Bosch fuel injected Ford v-6, as used in many Ford models, including the North American made Ford Ranger.
Suspension and gearbox components are Ford Cortina. Brakes are Servo assisted girling disc at all four wheels and steering is rack and pinion.
The interior is trimmed in cream leather with crimson piping and the three position canvas convertible top, includes a removable center section that is easily stowed in the trunk.
This particular most interesting and unique sports car has been owned by a senior enthusiast for many years, who has over time, invested extensively on upgrades throughout the entire vehicle.
The owners handbook appears to have been autographed for the vehicle owner, many years ago, by the original founder of TVR Engineering, Trevor Wilkinson.
Trevor, shortened to TVR, makes the vehicle name.
The factory color sales brochure claims a performance of zero to 60 mph, in just over seven seconds and a top speed of 130 mph.
The brochure, plus the original autographed handbook and owners service records are included with the vehicle.
This is a fast, fun and fascinating car to own and drive.
